就

　Example

　　Wrong：昨天下了课，就他去看朋友了。

　　Right：昨天下了课，他就去看朋友了。

　　“就”occupies the wrong position in the sentence. It should precede the verb“去”as an adverbial adjunct to indicate that these threeevents-“下课”，“看朋友”happened in quick succession.

　　Example

　　Wrong：骑自行车十分钟可以到清华大学。

　　Right：骑自行车十分钟就可以到清华大学。

　　“就”should be added before“可以”to express that the speaker subjectively thinks it only takes a short time to get to Qinghua University.

　　Example

　　Wrong：香山很远，我们一个半小时就到。

　　Right：香山很远，我们一个半小时才到。

　　According to the speaker,“香山”is far away and it took them a long time to get there.“才”is the proper word to be used instead of “就”.

　　Example

　　Wrong：我就才知道他是大夫。

　　Right：我早就知道他是大夫。

　　Right：我才知道他是大夫。

　　“就”implies “early”whereas“才”imples “late”,so they can not occur side by side.There are two ways of correction: delete“才”and add“早”before“就”to emphasize early knowledge; or delete“就”and keep“才”.
